Business Details
I am a project management professional with over five years of experience in sustainability projects and humanitarian development. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science and am 27 years old, based in Kenya. I founded Nyalore Community-Based Organization, which operates in Kenya’s arid and semi-arid regions to address climate change challenges and promote environmental education. I am particularly interested in renewable-energy initiatives, especially solar-powered water projects.
Project/Capstone:
The Solar Water Initiative (SWI) is a community-driven project installing solar-powered pumping systems to provide reliable clean water in Kenya’s arid and semi-arid regions. It trains local residents to operate and maintain the systems, creates a community savings model for the sytems, and builds long-term water security while advancing renewable-energy adoption.
Future Goals/Next Steps
Future Goals/Next Steps
I will continue developing my project because it closely aligns with the program’s modules and what I have learned, bringing it to reality while engaging my team to advance SDG 7 (affordable and clean energy) and SDG 6 (clean water and sanitation) in Kenya’s arid and semi-arid regions.
